The Donna Kimberley school of Highland Dancing is based in the North East of England and holds dance classes in the Tyne and Wear and Northumberland areas. The aims of the Dancing School is to promote the art of Highland Dance by means of both teaching pupils and performing to the public.

Donna our dance Teacher has been Highland Dancing since the age of four and now has over 14 years experience in teaching, she is a qualified member of the UKA (United Kingdom Alliance of Professional Teachers of Dancing and Kindred Arts) who are validated by the Council of Dance Education and Training and Corporate members of:

  • British Dance Council
  • Sports and Recreation Alliance
  • Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing

Dancers are able to progress through different levels of Exams and take part in Highland Dancing Competitions should they wish . The Donna Kimberley School of Highland Dancing has been very successful in Competitions to date and has had three Dancers who have achieved the major milestone of winning their Pre-Championships to become Championship Dancers. One of these Competed in the Canadian Championships at Montreal in July 2013 and Vancouver in 2014 which attracted over 800 competitors where she came a very creditable 7th in her section,and in 2014 she won the All England Championship under 16 confined to become English Champion then in 2015 qualified for the Junior World Championship Finals, placing her in the top 20 in the world .
As well as teaching Highland dancing we also perform regularly for the public at fairs/fetes, charity events and community venues such as Homes/hospices for the elderley and over 60's clubs etc and we are often out and about with North Tyneside Pipeband. We also travel farther afield to dance festivals in this country and abroad, in 2007, 2009 and 2011 we performed at the XII,XIII and XIV Worldfolkdance festival in Palma . In July 2009 we had an amazing trip to the Seeboden Children's Folkdance Festival in Austria and in August 2012 we travelled to Paris to perform in Disneyland and in Paris City Centre.
