The Donna Kimberley school of Highland Dancing is a non profit community dance group based in the North East of England and holds dance classes in the South East Northumberland area. The aims of the Dancing School are to promote the art of Highland Dance by means of both teaching pupils and performing to the public.
Our dance Teachers are Donna and Heather.:-
Donna has been involved in Highland Dancing since the age of 4, she was very successful in her time competing and traveled the world Dancing at numerous festivals. She passed her Teachers exam to become a member of the UKA but has now semi retired leaving the School in the very capable hands of Heather.
Heather also started Dancing at the age of 4 and so far the highlights of her dancing career has been competing in the Canadian Championships in Montreal in July of 2013 and in Vancouver in 2014 which attracted over 800 competitors and Heather finished a very creditable 7th in her section. In 2014 she won the 'All England confined Championships' to become under 16 English Champion and in 2015 she became one of the top 20 Dancers in the world by merit of becoming the first and as of yet only Dancer from the North East of England to qualify for the finals of the World Champioships. In 2016,2018,2019 to 2022 and 2023 she gained the title of All English Champion again, only this time in the Adult section.
She is now a fully qualified Highland Dancing Teacher after gaining top marks in the BATD Members exams and, she has also started judging competitions after passing the very stringent RSOBHD judges exam.
The Donna Kimberley School of Highland Dancing is a small Dancing School preferring quality over quantity and it offers a very high standard of Dancing tuition. This high standard is reflected in the competition results of our Dancers.
Dancers are
able to progress through different levels of Exams and take part in
